Description
I have always been fascinated by the color and shapes of the onion domes in Russia. I loved interpreting and creating whimsy for these whimsical structures.
The Onion Domes were believed to represent the churches of the Russian Orthodox. There was also a fascination with Byzantine style. Along with the heavy snow that falls in Russia, these shapes were believed to be designed for the snow to easily slide off the roof.
